Swadhinata Trust Statement

Swadhinata Trust statement
As a minority led organisation founded on challenging inequality, celebrating the diversity of our communities, and specifically the culture, heritage and contributions of British-Bangladeshi’s in the UK, we have been saddened and concerned at the recent events here in the UK and the current climate of fear and division.

The dangerous rhetoric demonises minorities, girls and women, and targets groups including those who we live and work with. Like many, we are concerned about the safety and wellbeing of our communities.

Swadhinata Trust stands against all forms of oppression including xenophobia, racism, Islamophobia, Anti-semitism and misogyny. We appeal to our fellow community organisations to do the same, and continue to condemn, challenge and stand together.
