Spotlight: Community Celebration with Kensington Palace, 13 August 2025

The Community Celebration event celebrated the themes of community, friendship, celebration and unity. 

 

Julie Begim – The Swadhinata Trust ran a Nakshi Kantha workshop between 12-6pm on 13th August 3025 at Orangery Lawn, Kensington Palace.

The one-day Nakshi Kantha workshop featured embroidered samples in various kantha styles (a technique originating in Bangladesh), creating a joint collaborative piece of embroidery for the Kensington Palace Community Celebration. Participants were able to take away their own practice sample squares on the day.
