Anando Gopal Das Baul (vocal and khamak) accompanied by Radheyshyam Das Baul (Khamak, Kartal, Ektara) Natin Let (Khol), Uttam Das Baul (Dotara). Anando Gopal Das Baul was born in Ajoydha village, West Bengal, India, in 1962. Anando is the seventh generation of a Baul family. His musical training as a child came firstly from his grandmother Jogamaya Vaishnavi and his grandfather Panchanan Thakur, and then through many years under his father Biswanath Das Baul. His spiritual Guru was Srimot Tapan Sai, and he continues to follow the Baul spiritual culture which he learnt from his guru. From childhood Anando has performed music in a variety of situations, including sustaining a living through the Baul tradition of Madhukori (singing in exchange for alms), at spiritual venues, during religious festivals, in towns and villages, at melas and festivals and on buses and trains.
